A busy arts centre with strong ties to the local community, Cumbernauld Theatre is situated on the edge of parkland surrounding Cumbernauld House. A converted row of 18th Century estate workers cottages fronts a complex consisting of a 258 seat, arena style auditorium, a 60 seat studio theatre, a cafe and two bars.
 The theatre presents a wide ranging year round programme of events which includes professional theatre productions by Cumbernauld Theatre Co and by visiting touring companies, music of all types, comedy and cabaret plus community productions by Youth Theatre groups and local amateur companies.

A community drama team runs six youth theatre groups, for children and young people from 5 to 21 years of age and also works in schools and with special needs groups.
